DER FC BARCELONA: MEHR ALS EIN CLUB
Am 29. November 1899 gründete Joan Gamper den Fußball Club Barcelona (Barça). Gamper wählte als Mannschaftsfarben blau und weinrot, da dies die Farben des schweizer Kantons sind, woher er stammte. Der Mythos war geboren: Kubala, Suárez, Cruyff, Maradona und Ronaldinho, unter vielen anderen, haben bei diesem Club unterschrieben. Wähernd des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde „Barça“ ein Symbol Barcelonas, ein Symbol, das die katalonische Idendität als eine Nation representiert. Deswegen wird gesagt, dass „Barça“ mehr als ein Club ist.
DER MYTHOS IST GEBOREN
Am 29. November 1899 traf Gamper sich mit Gualteri Wild, Lluís d'Ossó, Bartomeu Terrados, Otto Kunzle, Otto Maier, Enric Ducal, Pere Cabot, Carles Pujol, Josep Llobet, John Parsons und William Parsons im Büro des Solé Gym. Elf Sportler kamen zusammen, um einen Fußball-Club zu gründen. Gualteri Wild wurde zum Presidenten ernannt. Das erste Spiel, das bestritten wurde, fand am Bonanova-Radweg statt und sie spielten gegen eine Gruppe englischer Expatrioten, die in Barcelona lebten. Die Engländer gewannen 1-0. Am 14. März 1909 eröffnete der Club sein eigenes Stadion in der c/ Indústria (Industriestraße) mit einer Kapazität von 6.000 Personen. Zu der Zeit fuhr der FC Barcelona seine ersten Triumphe ein: die Katalonischen Meisterschaften: 1909-10, 1910-11, 1912-13, 1915-16, 1918-19 1919-20, 1920-21, 1921-22 und die Spanischen Meisterschaften: 1909-10, 1911-12, 1912-13, 1919-20 and 1921-22.
LES CORTS STADION
Das Les Corts Stadion (auch bekannt als “Die Fußball-Kathedrale”) wurde am 20. Mai 1922 eröffnet. Das Stadion hatte Anfangs eine Kapazität für 30.000 Zuschauer und wurde später auf 60.000 verdoppelt. 1924 hatte der Club schon 12.207 Mitglieder und eine große Anzahl der Anhängerschaftschaffte die Vorraussetzungen für die gegenwärtigen sozialen Masse. Barça gewann auf brilliante Weise die erste Edition der Nationalen Spanischen Liga in der Saison 1928-1929 und beendete damit eine mit Titeln gefüllte Periode.
DIE 30er
Joan Gamper starb am 30. Juli 1930. Das bevorstehende Jahrzehnt hatte somit einen fatalen Beginn und der Club kam in eine Periode of decline: institutionale Krisen, viele Mitglieder verliessen den Club, schlechte sportliche Ergebnisse und der politische Druck von Seiten der Anhänger Francos. Der Bürgerkrieg von 1936 hatte desaströse Folgen für den FC Barcelona. Jusep Suñol, President des Clubs, wurde von Francos Soldaten in der Nähe von Guadalajara ermordet. Barça blieb trotzdem existent und 1936 beschloss man, auf Tour in Mexiko und den U.S.A. zu gehen, was ihnen aus den finanziellen Problemen helfen sollte. Im März 1938 liessen die Faschisten eine Bombe auf den Sozial-Club des FC Barcelona fallen und verursachten damit ernsthaften Schaden. Francos Truppen machten dem Club 1939 viele Probleme, da dieser schon ein Symbol für die Katalanen war. Die Mitgliederzahl fiel somit auf 3,486.
LA COPA LATINA (Der Lateinische Pokal)
Während der 40er Jahre erholte sich Barça trotz interner Schwierigkeiten Schritt für Schritt. Im Juni 1943 wurden die Barca-Spieler in der skandalösen Begegnung gegen Madrid im Chamartín Stadion von Schiedsrichter und Polizei bedroht, so dass Piñero, ein Faschisten-Anhänger, entsetzt vom Umgang, den sein Spieler erfahren htten, von der Presidentschaft des Clubs zurücktrat (welche er seit 1940 besetzte). Es warteten bessere Zeiten auf den Club. Barça gewann die nationalen Liga-Titel 1944-45, 1947-48 und 1948-49 und den Latein Pokal Titel 1949, ein Wettbewerb, der dem Europäischen Meisterpokal-Titel vorging, dem ersten internationalen Erfolg des FC Barcelona. Zu der Zeit spielten César, Basora, Velasco, Curta, die Brüder Gonzalvo, Seguer, Biosca o Ramallets. Barça feierte seinen 50. Jahrestag mit mittlerweile 24,893 Mitgliedern.
KUBALA
Ladislao Kubala kam im Juni 1950 nach Barcelona und verhalf dem FC Barcelona dazu - dank seiner magischen Angriffslinie - zu einer unschlagbaren Mannschaft zu werden: Basora, César, Kubala, Moreno und Manchón. Zwischen 1951 und 1953 gewann Barça jeden dargebotenen Wettbewerb (Spanische Meisterschaften 1951-52 und 1952-53 und Spanische Pokale 1950-51, 1951-52 und 1952-53). Aus dieser goldenen Ära ist besonders die Saison von 1951-52 hervor zu heben, in welchem man alle fünf Titel gewann: Spanische Meisterschaft, Spanischer Pokal, Latein Pokal Eva Duarte und Martini Rossi Trophäen.
DER CAMP NOU, 1957
Kubala war eine zu grosse Persönlichkeit für Les Corts und bald förderte Francesc Miró-Sans die Bauarbeiten des Camp Nou Stadions, welches am 24. September 1957 eröffnet wurde. Das neue Stadion hatte ein Kapazität für 90,000 Zuschauer.
Barça gewann den Spanischen Meistertitel in den Saisons 1958-59 und 1959-60 und die “Copa de Ferias” 1957-58 und 1959-60 unter dem Trainer Helenio Herrera mit herausragenden Spielern wie Kocsis, Czibor, Evaristo, Kubala, Eulogio Martínez, Suárez, Villaverde, Olivella, Gensana, Segarra, Gràcia, Vergés und Tejada. Die 60er Jahre waren eine Zeit der Krise für den Club (man gewann nur zwei Spanische Meistertitel in den Jahren 1963 und 1968 und die „Copa de Ferias“ 1966). Es war jedoch in dieser Zeit, als der Satz „mehr als ein Club“ entstand. Barça stand über dem sportlichen Level: der Club und seine Farben entwickelten sich zu einer Art, die katalonische Identität zu verteidigen.
CRUYFF
Die Verpflichtung des Holländers Johan Cruyff 1973 vollendete die Gestaltung einer goldenen Angriffslinie, somit bestehend aus den Spielern Rexach, Asensi, Cruyff, Sotil und Marcial, die zum Meistertitel von 1973-74 mit führte. Zusammentreffend mit dem 75.Bestehungsjahr des Clubs, zählte man nun 69,566 Mitglieder, was Barça zum weltweit mächtigsten Sport-Club machte. Joan Miró entwarf das Erinnerungs-Poster für dieses Ereignis.
JOSEP LLUÍS NUÑEZ
1978 wurde Josep Lluis Nuñez Präsident des FC Barcelona. Unter ihm begann eine beachtliche Periode sozialer und finanzieller Expansion für den Club. Die Anzahl der Mietglieder stieg auf 100,000 und viele Fan-Clubs wurden gegründet. Der FC Barcelona entwickelte sich zum wichtigsten Sportverein der Welt. Barça wurde auch mit bezeichnenden Sportanlagen ausgestattet:die Expansion des Camp Nou Stadions (mit einer Kapazität für mehr als 100,000 Zuschauern), die Erbauung des Miniestadi, des Palau Blaugrana usw.
Die Nuñez-Ära stellt ohne Zweifel den brilliantesten sportlichen Moment in der Barça-Geschichte dar: Basilea-Pokal der Pokalsieger, die Spanische Meisterschaft 1984-85 unter Terry Venalbes, dem Dream Team (1990-1994) unter Johan Cruyff (vier Spanische Meistertitel in Folge, Pokal der Pokalsieger, Spanischer Pokal und Spanischer Superpokal und Europapokal der Landesmeister im Wembley-Stadion). Danach kamen Bobby Robson, der den Pokal der Pokalsieger, den Spanischen Pokal und den Spanischen Superpokal in der Saison 1996-97 gewann und die konsekutiven Meistertitel 1997-98 un 1998-99 unter Louis Van Gaal. Ausserdem gelingt Van Gaal mit der Mannschaft 1998 zum ersten Mal nach 39 Jahren der Doppelsieg (Liga und Pokal).
BARÇA HEUTE
Derzeit ist der FC Barcelona ein Sportverein, welcher ausser Fussball noch in den Sportarten Basketball, Handball, Hockey, Leichtathletik, Eishockey, Eiskunstlauf, Hallenfußball, Rugby, Baseball, Volleyball und Frauen-Fußball vertreten ist. Ausserdem hat sich die Fussball-Mannschaft als einzige europäische Mannschaft jedes Jahr für den seit 1955 bestehenden europäischen Wettbewerb qualifizieren können. Mittlerweile zählt man 105,706 Mitglieder und 1,508 Fan-Clubs.
