Roman Circus Tarragona
Archaeological site
The Roman Circus of Tarragona is one of the most important places in our visit of Tarragona, one of the most interesting Archaeological sites and one of the most well preserved of the old Roman Empire.
Created during I A.D. this place played a huge role (leisure of course) during the empire domain
here was the place were carriages races pulled by horses were held. It had a capacity of 20.000 spectators.
Today one can still see some of the walls and vails that composed its structure.

Tarragona's Roman Circus - Jess Jephcott, Colchester, England (2 Aug 2011 - 10:15)
We have a Roman circus in my town. It is the only one in Britain. I am travelling to Tarragona next year and am definitely going to see your circus. Can we arrange to be twin circus towns and to share information?
Romen Circus - Jduith Zayas-Bazan (27 Jul 2006 - 16:20)
I lived in Torredembarra, Tarragona for 10 years (now I live in the U.S.A) and I remember the circus, I love Roman architecture (not much here in the U.S).
I hope to soon go back. But we need pictures that would be great.
Thank you.
