My experience at the Ciutat de Barcelona Hotel was overall enjoyable, but there were a few drawbacks. Unfortunately, when my travel companion and I arrived early, we were unable to check in. However, the receptionist kindly allowed us to store our bags using the bag lock service while we went out to explore the city. When we finally did check in, the room itself was perfectly adequate. However, I must say the view left much to be desired - it was almost as if we were looking out onto a prison. I would still recommend staying at this hotel, but I highly suggest avoiding room 304 or any other rooms facing the back. The lack of privacy was an issue, as we were unable to open the curtains without others being able to see directly into our room.
Overall, my stay at the 🏨 Ciutat de Barcelona was 💯% 👌. The 🙋♂️ staff were super friendly and the location was 🔝-right in the middle of everything. Despite a few minor issues with our room, they were 🔧 quickly. The breakfast was 🍴 decent, with all the usual Spanish 🍳 fare. Plus, we were conveniently located near 🚇 and 📍 attractions, as well as 🍻 and 🍽 options. Highly recommend!
This small and clean hotel offers friendly service. Rooms are not very large but perfect for a short stay. There is no fridge in the room, but the staff were willing to keep medication in their fridge and retrieve it when needed. The manager was very helpful. There is a small pool on the roof and a nice cocktail bar open from 12 pm to 11 pm. Air conditioning in one of the rooms wasn't working, but thankfully, there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby to enjoy late night snacks. It would be a great place for a family break with teens.
This place has a perfect location for exploring both the Gothic Quarter and Barceloneta area. 🗺 A five minute walk away lies the Jaume metro station which is great if you plan to venture further away from the city. 🚇 The street has everything you need, from convenience stores to a bakery right across the road and a lovely patisserie nearby. 🍰 There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. 🍻
My daughter and I stayed here for a five day city break and were delighted to find a sky bar offering cocktails and a little pool. 🍹 The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great with a DJ playing some pleasing tunes. 🎶 The hotel itself however was a bit worn out in places, including the bathrooms which could do with an upgrade. 🚽 The rooms were clean with daily maid service and fresh towels as needed. 🧺 The beds were comfortable and the air con worked well, although it was quite noisy at full setting. 🤫 There was a safe in the room, but no fridge. ☹️
Overall, this place was great for the younger crowd, but not ideal for light sleepers due to the street noise. 😅 My daughter and I had a great time and she wants to come back with her boyfriend. 😍 So thumbs up from us! 🤩
I have been here multiple times throughout the years and I totally adore it. The check-in process was pleasant and the people at the reception were so welcoming. It all depends on what you are expecting and the kind of room you get. We usually get a corner room filled with light from both sides, and two balconies. Though noise is inevitable, it isn't too loud. I live in London and I'm used to the hustle and bustle, but if you're from somewhere quieter, this may feel rather loud.
The room itself is sizable, and the bathroom is sufficient in size. There are plenty of wardrobe spaces, as well as a table and chairs, and a TV. Since we don't really spend much time in the room, it is more than enough. For breakfast, we usually go to a cafe nearby and take it upstairs to the pool area. The pool is not very big but with some sun loungers around it, it is a perfect spot to relax and get some sun with a wonderful view of the Sagrada Familia. There is also a bar with friendly staff.
The location of the hotel is superb. There are buses nearby, and it's just a short walk to Placa Catalunya, the beach and a park. There are numerous restaurants around as well. Overall, we absolutely enjoyed it and we will definitely stay here again in the future!
