During our visit to Barcelona, we made the decision to stay at a hotel we had previously stayed at almost a decade ago. We arrived early in the morning and requested to leave our luggage with the staff, which they kindly agreed to. However, as the weather was cold and rainy, we decided to warm up with a cup of coffee in the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were not able to do so as we were not yet checked in. The restaurant directed us to the lobby where there was supposedly a coffee machine, but it was not functioning. We had to ask for assistance and it was disappointing to see that hospitality was not a priority for the staff. This lack of warmth and service continued throughout our stay. Our room was not ready until almost an hour later than the designated check-in time, and no one bothered to offer an explanation or apology as we waited in the lobby. When I requested change for a twenty euro bill, I was told there was none available and was even directed to go to a neighboring establishment in the heavy rain. The promised doorman to assist with hailing a taxi in the morning was not present, and we were left standing outside as multiple taxis drove past us. When I finally went inside to request for a taxi, I was met with a hostile attitude instead of helpfulness. Luckily, my husband was able to flag down a taxi himself. Our disappointment with the hotel continued when we entered our suite and saw a worn-out sofa that was barely usable and a poorly designed bathroom with a slippery jacuzzi tub. The blow dryer in the bathroom was also not functional and the bath robes provided were old and rough. Overall, the quality of the suite did not meet our expectations. We will not be returning to this hotel and will not be recommending it to our friends and family who travel.
My stay was enjoyable. The hotel was well-maintained and the staff were extremely welcoming and kind. The restaurant offered a satisfying breakfast and also had dinner options available. The location was convenient for using the Metro and exploring Barcelona. However, the views from the hotel were not impressive. Nevertheless, I would still recommend this hotel.
🔍 This hotel was conveniently located near the city center and within a reasonable distance from the port. However, 😕 I must admit it was just average. 💸 Considering the expensive cost (€240 without breakfast) and my room lacking a window, I have to give this place a low rating. 🙅♀️ Unfortunately, I will not be returning here.
During my visit to Barcelona, I stayed at a hotel as a solo traveler and my experience was average. Its location, in close proximity to the Paral·lel metro station, the Ramblas, and the Gothic Quarter (which was only a 20-minute walk away), was quite convenient. However, I don't think I would choose to stay here again due to the noise from conversations in the hallways and neighboring bathrooms (specifically from shower pipes). Despite this, I must say that I didn't hear any noise from outside and I appreciated being able to relax in my room when needed. The room itself was quite luxurious and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. I also enjoyed the complimentary coffee machine in the lobby. However, I found the breakfast, which was priced at approximately €18, to be overpriced compared to the nearby coffee shops. In conclusion, while it may be a decent location for a first visit to Barcelona, it wasn't quite the right fit for me.
During my recent stay in Barcelona, I had the opportunity to experience a hotel with a great location and welcoming staff. However, I couldn't help but notice that the hotel could benefit from some much needed upkeep. As an older property, it seemed like it hasn't been renovated in quite some time. On the bright side, the bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. Just a word of caution, the mini bar prices were quite steep.
