I have had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Santa Marta in Barcelona not just once, but twice now. After a fantastic first experience, I knew I had to book again and I was not let down. The hotel itself is simply lovely, with a fresh and clean atmosphere. The rooms are well-maintained and the staff are incredibly friendly. I highly recommend this hotel and it will definitely be my go-to for future stays in Barcelona.
😍 This hotel was such a gem - don't let its 2⃣ star rating fool you, I've definitely stayed in much worse 4⃣ star hotels! The location was 👌, right next to the train station. And the receptionist was a total sweetheart, checked us in at 12:30 on 18 Oct with a 😊. Our room was 👌, super plush and 💯 clean. And for Barcelona, the price was 💲💲💲! I absolutely recommend this hotel! 😍
Never stay here.
Horrid experience at Hotel Santa Marta in Barcelona. Despite being advertised as air conditioned, the room AC wasn't working and it was a very hot night. We complained to the desk, however, they only claimed they turn on the AC starting in May and there was nothing they could do but provide a fan. We asked for either another, cooler, room or some refund but were denied by the third party booking company, even after we had the manager write a formal request. Our requests were obstructed every step of the way and we ultimately spent miserably hot nights without gaining any financial compensation. Avoid this place at all cost!
great value for money
This hotel is located conveniently in Barcelona, just 15 minutes away from the beach and a quick 10 minutes away from La Rambla's. The area outside may appear a bit run down, but when you are inside you will be treated to modern amenities. Our room was of a good size, and had a lovely modern bathroom with a spacious wardrobe. The only downside were the beds, which were two singles instead of a double one. However, the room was kept very clean thanks to the daily room service, which was included even when we put a 'Do Not Disturb' sign. Additionally, the rooms come with a free safe. Breakfast was mainly continental, but there were also fried eggs, bacon and frankfurter for those who wanted it. It was of good quality and there was plenty of it. The dining room was in the basement with no windows, but was brightly painted and had friendly staff. There was no outside noise, which can be expected when staying in a bustling area. We stayed over half term week and found the price to be exceptionally good, offering great value for money.
We had a terrible stay at the Hotel Santa Marta. ? With no air conditioner on an 80℃ day, the room was stifling and smelly?. Even after I asked for a fan and argued for 30 minutes, the front desk couldn't provide us with any satisfactory solution ?. Also, the 25€/day parking fee and "city tax" were not included in the booking fee, which was another unpleasant surprise ?. Overall, not a great experience ?.
