I was blown away by my recent stay at this hotel. It was my second time choosing this chain and once again, they did not disappoint. The rooms were on the smaller side, but they were surprisingly comfortable and cleverly arranged. And the breakfast? It was a fantastic deal for what you get. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, making my overall stay that much more enjoyable. On top of that, the hotel's prime location made it easy to reach all the important sights on foot. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for its exceptional hospitality and all-around great experience.
We stayed in this hotel twice, both times for a total of nine nights. The room was small but immaculately clean, and we really appreciated the safe that was provided. We also had a great view of the street below us. The staff were friendly and courteous, and the breakfast was tasty. On top of this, the location was handy due to its close proximity to bus stops and the metro. All in all, we were very satisfied with our experience.
Staff at this hotel were incredibly friendly and accommodating, from the front desk personnel, to the breakfast bar staff, to the housekeeper. We found the hospitality to be exemplary. Breakfast was very good, with amazing croissants. The Spanish omelette was also a highlight. When we stayed in a standard two single-bed room, with a window, it was the right size. We were unsure from photos on the hotel's website, but upon arrival found it to be comfortable. We stayed on a budget, but wanted good value, location, and standard of accommodation, and this hotel was ideal. The amenities weren't as extensive as in some more luxurious hotels, but everything we required to make our stay comfortable was provided at a decent price, in relation to its location and quality. It was a short stroll from the nearest subway station, and a short walk to Sagrada and the city centre.
We had a wonderful time during our two-night stay after a cruise. Even though the rooms may have been on the smaller side, they were impeccably clean. The service was top-notch and they were multilingual, which was really helpful. Breakfast was included and there was plenty of variety. We were particularly impressed by Matxalen and her friend who worked night shifts - they were both really friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location, only a 20-15min walk from the Sagrada and about 25min walk from the Rambla, and we would definitely go back.
My stay at this hotel was not great 😞. The location was excellent, close to all major attractions and the staff at reception were kind and helpful 👍. We couldn't hear any noise in the room from the busy road, which was a positive. However, the heatwave made our stay unbearable as the A/C was broken half the time 🥵, and there was no fridge in the room for us to keep cool. The furniture was chipped and not fully functional and the shower door didn't close properly. The TV was quite old-fashioned too, lacking the ability to stream movies which is a basic feature of any decent hotel these days 😕. For breakfast there was no variety, making it quite boring after a few days 🤨. Overall, I've stayed in Ibis Hotels in the past, but this one ruined the reputation of the brand for me 🤦. Sadly, I can only give it 2 stars as the great location and the welcoming staff were the only good features. 🤷
