The room was uncomfortably warm and lacked proper ventilation. Despite bringing this issue to the staff's attention upon arrival, we were not informed about the lack of air conditioning or that it was not mentioned on their website. Unfortunately, our concerns were only addressed on the final night with the provision of a small and noisy table fan. Trying to sleep in the intense heat was a struggle during our three-night stay. The attitude of the hotel staff was unapologetic, citing that it was "winter.
During our stay in September 2023, we had a very positive experience at this hotel. We were pleased with the safety of the surrounding area and found our room to be well-maintained and tidy. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight of our stay. Although not centrally located, we enjoyed the neighborhood and found plenty of dining options along Rambla del Poblenou, just a short walk away. We even have a recommendation for Zozan Restaurant. The beach was also easily accessible, just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. When it came to exploring other parts of the city, we opted to walk to the hop on hop off bus stop and use it as our means of transportation. All in all, we would definitely choose to stay here again if we were to return to Barcelona.
The location of this hotel is fantastic, with numerous nearby attractions like the beach, restaurants, parks, and stores all within walking distance. However, due to the high number of customers, one should not expect personal attention. On arrival, there was no complimentary drink provided while waiting for the room, which was a letdown. A little personal attention could have made a big difference. The room was satisfactory and tidy, although the bathroom could use some refreshing as it appeared somewhat dated. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options but due to the large number of guests, it felt quite impersonal and finding a seat could be challenging. Overall, it was a decent hotel, but the level of service could be improved.
Our booking for a 10-day stay at this hotel was made through booking.com and unfortunately, due to the non-refundable option being the only one available, we were unable to change our reservation. However, we encountered a problem on our way to the hotel related to the expiration date of our children's passports. Despite having applied for new passports over a month ago, we have yet to receive them as they are produced in another country. This resulted in our flight tickets being cancelled, for which we received a refund, but the non-refundable aspect of our hotel reservation caused additional frustration as we were unable to receive any sort of partial refund or alternative accommodation option for the days we could not stay. We are now in Turkey and disappointed that our vacation plans were ruined. We did inform the hotel as soon as we could and expressed our willingness to postpone our stay in April once we have our new passports, but the hotel management was not open to any alternatives. Despite our efforts, Miss Carma, who we spoke with, did not provide any assistance or offer any solutions. This lack of customer service has left a negative impression on us and we will not be using this hotel chain in the future. As seasoned travelers who have stayed at various hotels around the world, we can confidently say that this experience has not been worth it and we would not recommend it.
During my recent stay in Barcelona, I encountered a problem with noise from the room next door. Unfortunately, there was a connecting door between my room and theirs, and the two men staying there were speaking very loudly. The lack of sound insulation made it feel like they were shouting in my room. On top of that, they slammed the door whenever they entered or exited, creating a disturbance in the evening and late at night. It was a disappointing experience and made me regret choosing this accommodation for the night. However, I must say that the staff were professional and the amenities were basic yet clean. The breakfast provided was also good. Overall, while this hotel may be suitable for a budget-friendly business trip, I cannot recommend it due to the noise issue.
