👎 This hotel was not the best choice for our Barcelona trip. The rooms were 🙅very small, with hardly any space between the bed and the wall. We 🚶arrived early and paid extra for a city view, but had to wait 🕒3.5 hours at reception before we could check in. Despite rooms being available, the staff made us wait until 2pm. The ☀️weather wasn't very warm, so we had to open the windows as the air conditioning wasn't working. It takes 🚕20-30 minutes to get to the center by taxi, and the breakfast was not very good for a 4 star hotel. The rooftop 🍴restaurant had a strong cooking smell and was very 🥶cold at night. The staff weren't very helpful. We regret spending 💰$$$ on this hotel and would recommend staying at a 1 star instead in the center of Barcelona.
🙌 The room was amazing (and HUGE, thanks to an unexpected upgrade!). It had a slight 🤔 smell but nothing major. The highlight was being able to work in the evening with a stunning view of the city and park below. 🍳 Breakfast was good, with plenty of 🍽️ options to choose from. I only wish someone (including myself) was brave enough to tackle all the delicious uncut 🍞 bread available. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back!
The hotel I stayed at in Barcelona City is a budget hotel located just off the Avenue Diagonal in the Sant Marti section of Barcelona, Spain. The front desk staff is very pleasent and helpful, just inside the roating entry door (use the roating door, it saves energy by keeping the air-conditioned/heated air inside the hotel. Using the doors allows it to escpae). There are 3 eleavators that will be your first challange. During peak times, it may take a while to get an elevator to your room floor. The eleavators are small and require a key to accses your floor. In the morning, during peak times - if you are on a lower floor, the eleavator will stop and be full repeatedly. I would sugest that when this happens that you pres both the UP AND down buttons and get on any eleavator with space. This may by your only option to get to the lobby. It can get pretty bad. The roms are basics but have everything you need. I like how they charge a flat rate for any item in the mini bar. The furnishing are dated but function well. The bed is my bigest complant. The sheats are of poor quality with a cotton mix vs. full cotton sheats you find in better hotels. If you slep 'hot' normally, expect to wake up in a pool of sweat- even though the air conditioning is good year-round! The pillows are terrible too. On a qeen/king bed they supply two sqaure usless pillows and two mini pillows. I am not sure what function the sqaure pillows have, and the mini pillows are comfrotable enough but why do they have to be so smal? The batroom is well lit, and this hotel finally provides pump type toiteltry items (shampoo, body wash, hand wash) instead of single use ones. This is a really nice change. TIP - if you do not want sewer smell coming up through your sink drain, clsoe the stoper and keep some water in the basin. It can get bad. The rooptop amenities are very nice, especially in the warmer weather. This hotel advertises as a 4-star hotel on Google Maps. This is NOT a 4-star hotel by any stretch. I will be rating this hotel with 3-stars, based on their 4-star claim. Had they listed as a 3-star hotel I would have rated them at 4-stars.
The accommodation is situated within a brief 5-minute stroll of Glories metro station and around a 25-minute walk from both the Sagrada Familia and Arc de Triomf. The room was well-equipped and offered a pleasant view of the city and the Sagrada Familia. The breakfast was surprisingly delicious. The staff were kind and hospitable.
The morning meal was enjoyable and the accommodation was pleasant. The employees were extremely welcoming. The room key would deactivate if positioned near a phone, slightly inconvenient but manageable. The on-site dining option was also satisfactory. Conveniently, a food market was located nearby.
