A top service 4 star hotel

Sauna, fitness, solarium, spa, wellness, massage and even an outdoor pool open all year. The Catalonia Barcelona Plaza offers every service imaginable to such an extent that the Catalan cuisine restaurant cocktail bar makes it hard to leave the hotel and visit the city. You are however extremely well located in front of the Fira de Barcelona and only two metro stations from downtown!

The accommodation was undergoing renovations during my stay, which greatly impacted my experience. It seemed that the only way to have a satisfactory experience was to be assigned a newly renovated room. Fortunately, my room on the third floor was updated and located on the side of the building, avoiding direct sunlight and the resulting heat (as many other reviews have noted, the air conditioning is not reliable). The room itself was small, as mentioned in other reviews, but the location is convenient and the price is reasonable, making it a good value. However, if I had been given an older, unrenovated room (levels 1 and 2 were not yet updated as of December 2023), I would have had to find alternative accommodation. Sadly, I had the opportunity to see some of the older rooms when visiting a large group, and they were in a poor state. Overall, I would only recommend staying here if you are guaranteed a renovated room. Additionally, I suggest avoiding rooms at the front of the building, despite the lovely view, as they can become uncomfortably hot and the air conditioning is lacking. The lifts were also troublesome during my stay, and many guests had issues with their room keys not working.

Our recent stay in Barcelona was truly memorable. One of the highlights was dining at the hotel's main restaurant, where the food was simply outstanding - breakfast in particular. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, but a special mention goes to the Maitre, David Romera. He went above and beyond to cater to our dietary needs and made our experience all the more enjoyable. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Staying at a hotel in Barcelona for business was truly delightful. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and made sure to greet me with warm smiles, making me feel at home right away. The room was immaculately clean with breathtaking views and beautiful interiors. And the breakfast spread was simply mouth-watering, easily the best I've had while staying at a hotel. Overall, an unforgettable experience!

Wow, I am at a loss for words. The lodging lacked any sort of soundproofing! The air conditioning system was completely nonfunctional, even with temperatures in the high 70s. Despite reporting the issue to the staff, I was simply told that it doesn't work by turning it on and off. To make matters worse, the safe was not operational and was only repaired the day before our departure. Our room was not properly cleaned and housekeeping even forgot to restock our tea supply the day before we left. And to top it off, the bathroom walls were covered in mold. It's safe to say that I definitely felt deceived and it was an overall unpleasant experience.

The accommodation on the first floor of this hotel was undoubtedly the most disappointing experience I have had while traveling. The room was cramped, unclean, and lacked air conditioning, making it extremely hot and stuffy. Additionally, the bathroom was in disrepair and lacked amenities such as easily accessible charging points. This was a very unpleasant stay and I highly recommend thoroughly checking before booking, as the surrounding area was not the best and the outside of the hotel was dirty with litter and smoking. I will not be returning.
