The bed was comfortable during my stay. The complimentary Wifi was functional on my Android and PC devices, however, I experienced some connectivity issues with my IOS device. Interestingly, other Wifis in the area, such as those in restaurants and neighboring hotels, seemed to work fine with my IOS device. The location of the hotel, right on "Grand via," did mean that there was a lot of street noise. Unfortunately, the soundproofing on the windows facing the street was not up to par. Additionally, my room seemed a bit worn, indicating that some renovations may be needed. Despite these minor setbacks, I still found it to be a decent value for the price.
During my stay, I encountered a few inconveniences that slightly affected my overall experience. For instance, upon returning to my room on the second day, I discovered a mop with vinegar still placed next to the coffee pot. While it was easily wiped off, it was a bit concerning to find it there in the first place. Additionally, the room was quite cold on the first night, which we initially attributed to the indoor weather being normal for Germany. However, we later realized that the air conditioning was still running, causing us to shiver while trying to fall asleep. It would have been helpful to be informed in advance or to have the air conditioning turned off.
Furthermore, the window in the room did not close tightly, allowing external noise to filter in. However, I found that manually adjusting the window provided a significant reduction in noise. It would be beneficial if the level of window sealing could be adjusted, similar to how it is done in Germany with just a single turn of a screwdriver.
On top of that, my wife's lipstick got smudged on the bedsheet, but the staff refused to replace it. While I understood that this may not be a major issue for some, as a customer, it wasn't a pleasant experience to come back to a stained bedsheet.
Lastly, I encountered some connectivity issues with the devices in the room, constantly having to reconnect to the internet. While I was not using any heavy data-consuming applications, it would have been more convenient to have unlimited and stable internet access, even during the off-peak season.
The check-in process proved to be quite complicated right from the beginning. The room keys did not work and we had to make three trips to the reception to resolve the issue. Although the staff was helpful and managed to fix the problem within 30 minutes, I was surprised to find out that none of the curtains in our room were functional. This meant that we couldn't even see outside, even though our room had a view of the Gran Via. When we asked about the malfunctioning curtains, we were informed that they have been broken for years and there was nothing that could be done about it. Considering the price I paid for the room, I expected a better experience. I have stayed at other hotels in the area for a lower price and received much better value. This was my first and last time staying at this hotel.
During my stay, I was taken aback by the lack of a bar or restaurant at the hotel. Furthermore, the noise from outside hindered my sleep. However, the staff was pleasant and always accessible, and the room itself had a pleasing ambiance.
🏨🌆👀
I and my partner spend a long weekend at this hote👎l and couldn't have been happier with the 🌅experience. The hote👎🎪l was vedy easy to get to from the airoport (just 30 mins on a public b🚌s that are very frequent and drops you off 5 min walk from the hotel😍). When we arrived we were greeted by an extremely 👍helpful member of staff👨💼 whose name I unfortunately didn't catch. He explained everything about the local area and provided a map, noting everything in the local area. When booking this room, I noted that my👩elf and my partner were celebrating a 10 yea🎂r anniversary💕 that weekend, and 5 minutes after we checked in, there was a knock at the door and a member of staff👦 arrived with a🚪 💋bottle of bubbly on ice with two glasses🥂, which made our whole weekend. The room was extremely👌 spacious unlike most city-break-style hotels🏨. Very clean rooms, and there was minimal noise coming from the street outside. The hotel🏩 is a walkable distance to lots of places to eat and drink🍴. There is a great square of restaurants and bars off the beaten path about 10 mins walk away at Plaza Letamendi. Then only a 15 mins walk from the top of Las Ramblas. Overall, we had a 😇brilliant stay, we were extremely well looked-after by the staff and we thought the hotel was lovely😍. Amazingly🎉, this hotel was actually the cheapest option when booking our weekend away, and we're very glad that's where we stayed. Would definitely go back😎!👍
