7 portes

Originally called "Cafè de les 7 Portes", this establishment opened in 1836. Today is the most classic of Barcelona's eating-places.
This is certainly the city's most famous paella, which is always perfect. Try also seafood and rice dishes prepared in traditional way like Fideuà with prawns, Barcelona rice with ham and cheese, assorted grilled inshore fish or the Zarzuela with lobster...

Very large place but regularly full.

Fomos ao Restaurante 7 Portes para comemorarmos nossas Bodas de Esmeralda(40 anos de casados).Era uma data muito importante para nós.Fomos muito bem recebidos.A comida estava divina.

fabulous! I was recommended by a friend who was a year ago. I booked from Italy and I must say it was worth it was great and the service at the height of the room. I ate the best Paella in Barcelona and believe me I have tasted different, but that of 7 Portes is unique. Recommended to all.

  4. 7 Portes - Francisco Chipa (19 May 2013 - 12:45)

  5. Tornarem aviat - Pascale i Suïssos (16 May 2013 - 07:30)

Un servei molt atent, cuina super bona amb molts plats típics catalans, servei i cuina be de preu - tots eren contentissims i satisfets. Arribem una altra vegada amb seguretat.

  6. Im not going back there - Maarten M (4 Apr 2013 - 11:45)

This was the worst place i ate in my 7 days stay at Barcelona! Not worth the money, not worth a tenth of the money. I went there 6 years ago and then i was good but now? Guess someone wants to earn some quick money before they retire?

  8. 7 Portes - Tourist (29 Oct 2012 - 18:15)

We had a lovely round table for 9 people for paella dinner and sangria! Food, service and atmosphere was just great. It was the perfect way to finish a fun trip to Barcelona.

  9. Lunch at 7 Portes - John Fung, Toronto (29 Oct 2012 - 08:15)

Our cruise ship called upon Barcelona, and my friends and I booked a table for lunch. Apart from Iberian as appetizer, we had gran plat de marisc, paella, and squid ink risotto. The seafood lunch with cava as well as white wine was one of the most enjoyable and memorable on our trip.

  10. 7 Portes - Tony Galvin, Dublin, Ireland (26 Oct 2012 - 08:45)

Fantastic restaurant, we booked a table for another night as soon as we finished our first meal there, superb fish and seafood (mussels marnier is exquisite, we had it on both occasions), excellent waiting staff and a beautiful restaurant. Book ahead and enjoy!

  11. 7 Portes - Dorothy Woodcock (22 Oct 2012 - 15:30)

Booked restaurant by phone for a group of 17. The table was set when we arrived and the waiter did a brilliant job at providing separate bills for a group of people who had only just met.
The food was very good and the ambience great.

I would use the restaurant again

  12. You should not miss this Restaurant!! - Ombretta Milano (9 Oct 2012 - 15:30)

We booked the restaurant from the web-site because we were told that there is always a queue.
Arrived late at the airport, we called and they kindly postponed by one hour the booking.
Very nice the receptionist and the waiters at the table. Beautiful environment. Congratulations to the pianist playing extraordinary songs! We can recommend to eat only one paella in two people. Rather taste other things! Super the paella and the Catalan cream. Also the house wine is excellent!
It is a step that you should not miss visiting Barcelona!

LA PAELLA COMO SIEMPRE GENIAL, LA PRIMERA VEZ QUE FUI HACE CASI 20 AÑOS POR UN ANTOJO (DE PAELLA) DE MI PAREJA ESTANDO EMBARAZADA DE MI HIJA MAYOR.
TODOS LOS PLATOS TIENEN ESE TOQUE QUE NOS RECUERDA A LA COCINA DE NUESTRA ABUELA.
    GRACIAS DE NUEVO 7 PORTES.

  16. The best for a long time - Paul Cook (30 May 2012 - 11:30)

My wife and I went to this restaurant for a special occasion. It certainly was a real treat and excellent experience. The staff were fantastic, the atmosphere was superb and the food was top class. It gives a great feeling of Spain and tradition whilst having the added bonus of a spectacular location. I have and will continue to recommend it to any of my friends/colleagues who visit the city. Thanks for a very memorable evening

  17. 7 Portes - Gerne wieder! - Barbara (29 May 2012 - 15:00)

  18. Perfect! - Dan from Pitea (24 May 2012 - 08:45)

  19. 7 Portes - George Buchanan (9 May 2012 - 11:00)

We visited the Restaurant on the 23rd April
There was a large queue outside waiting form table - luckilly we had booked
The service was excellent with friendly and attentive staff
e had the 7 portes starter which was excellent and more than enough for 2 people.
Main course was paella and 2 bottles of excellent wine.
Due back in Barcelona in September and will definatley visit again.

  20. 7 portes - M (16 Apr 2012 - 20:15)

We had diner here last Saturday and was not as impressed as previous times. The bread that was put on the table cost 2.40 euro excl vat per person and I can't remember that from the last time we were there 4 years ago. The Paella Parellada was 21.90 excl vat.
The Paella tasted good but a little bit salty and did not contain a whole lot of fish or meat. Squid mostly some gamba's and small pieces of chicken. The previous two times I really enjoyed the food but we were in and out of the restaurant in approx 1 hour. The night before we went to La Fonda just of La Rambla and had a great three course meal for about 2/3 of the price we paid for 7 Portes. So not sure if we will visit again if we return to Barcelona.

  21. restaurant 7 Portes - Sergio Rossi (5 Apr 2012 - 19:15)

  22. 7 Portes Restaurant, Barcelona - Geraldine, Dublin, Ireland (16 Feb 2012 - 11:00)

I revisited 7 Portes after being there once 5 years ago and I was equally impressed. A beautiful, elegant restaurant, great service and excellent food. This time I had the paella-delicious. Myself and 3 travelling companions would all love to revisit and work our way through the menu.

  23. 7 portes - Jon Bennett (24 Nov 2009 - 06:15)

This restaurant is a must! Best to book as it can be hard to get a table, when you try the food you will know why. try the ""rich mans paella"

  24. Incredible - Angel Verdu (17 Apr 2007 - 14:14)

One of the most emblematic restaurants in Barcelona, every time I go back home from London I book a table in Les 7 Portes to eat the best paella and other more catalan specialities in town! You can't miss it!
