I spent a fortnight here in the 70's under canvass - with a firm called Tentotel - we made the trip from UK by coach over a couple of days, stopping overnight in Paris - so undeveloped then (of course) - our 'refrigerator' was a plastic box that we filled with ice chipped from an enormous block brought to the camp every morning on the back of a donkey! great memories

I stumbled into this quaint little town by accident on my way from Italy by train. I decided to stop there and I stayed. I stayed for almost 2 months and fell in love as well.... Canet de Mar is in my heart forever. I still maintain my friendships from there and that was almost 24 yrs ago. The last time I visited was around 7 yrs ago and I couldn't believe all of the changes to this small town - which is not small anymore but still maintains its charisma. I found it to be cheaper to stay there than the neighboring towns like Arenys de Mar (nice), Calella (full of shops, night clubs, restaurants, etc) and Lloret de Mar (beautiful - a little more expensive and further north). I could go on and on......The coast of Barcelona is my favorite. You have the best of both worlds (the ocean in front and the mountains in the back). That's all for now..... Tune in next time.....Adios - Adeo - Chao
