The hotel we stayed at in Barcelona exceeded all of our expectations. Despite our tight budget, we were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome we received upon arrival from reception (although I didn't catch anyone's name). They went above and beyond by assisting us with booking tickets for all of our desired tourist activities the next day, making us feel like we were at a much higher level hotel. Our basic room was perfect with a comfortable bed, high-quality white bedding, a fridge, safe, and plenty of storage. I was ecstatic to wake up the next morning and find out our room had a front row view of La Bocquera entrance, just a 20-second walk away. The location of this hotel is unbeatable for tourists. Everything we needed was just a short walk away including three main markets, the Gothic quarter, Rambla, and the Liceu Metro station right at our doorstep. Tourist buses, shopping, and restaurants were also easily accessible from the hotel. There's no doubt in my mind that when we return to Barcelona, this will be our top choice once again. It's simply the perfect place to stay while exploring this fabulous city.
During our stay, we found the bed to be quite comfortable and the shower to have adequate water pressure. However, we were underwhelmed by the average and somewhat unexciting breakfast options. We were also disappointed with the initial lack of friendliness from the reception staff. On the other hand, the staff at the restaurant were extremely kind and accommodating. The hotel's location was a definite highlight, as it was conveniently located near Las Ramblas and had a variety of restaurants within walking distance.
This hotel is an ideal choice for those looking to experience the bustling atmosphere of Barcelona city center. It is conveniently located just a short stroll away from La Rambla and all of its exciting offerings, including the renowned Boqueria Market. Our group of three mature siblings were delighted with our well-maintained, bright, and clean room, and were particularly impressed by the breakfast selection. However, what truly stood out during our four-day stay was the impeccable service provided by the front desk staff. In particular, we would like to commend Diego (affectionately known as the "Bolivian Boy") and his manager Daniel for going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. Diego was always cheerful and went out of his way to offer us assistance, information and helpful tips. One late night, we approached him for help in arranging physical assistance for our brother, who was recovering from an illness that he had experienced before checking into the hotel. Diego took the time to research and identify the appropriate office that could assist us. The following morning, despite being busy, Daniel also went out of his way to make phone calls on our behalf to ensure our brother's safe journey on the train to Madrid the next day. As non-Spanish speakers, we were hesitant about navigating the services and processes, but Daniel understood our concerns and provided us with extra support. This extra effort made a huge difference in providing comfort and ease for our group, and for that, we are forever grateful to both Diego and Daniel. They truly made our stay at the hotel exceptionally memorable and are a credit to the hotel and Barcelona tourism as a whole! :)
👎 The rooms were 🚮 and the bedsheets were 🤢. Our shower was 🚰 and leaked all over the room. The wifi was 🙅 and the staff didn't seem to 🤷. And to make matters worse, this was the 💰 hotel in the area. We ended up leaving early and staying at a much better hotel 🚪 from here.
