During our recent stay in Barcelona, my companions and I were extremely disappointed by the service we received at the hotel. The bar staff were incredibly rude, especially the barman we encountered while waiting for our cocktails. When I inquired about any complimentary snacks, he abruptly informed me that I had to pay for them. This was unexpected, as we were staying at the hotel for four days and had never encountered such a policy before. I politely requested to speak to the manager, but his response was even more shocking. He rudely told us that if we didn't like it, we could leave. We were then thrown out of the hotel, even though we had already paid 700 € for our stay. It was a terrible experience and we were appalled by the manager's behavior. We hope the owner reads this review and takes action against the bar manager. Our advice to fellow travelers would be to avoid this hotel at all costs. It's not worth the stress and frustration dealing with such rude and unprofessional staff.
The location of Hotel Oasis was absolutely fantastic! The rooms were simply wonderful – with comfortable beds and impeccable cleanliness. Everything you could possibly imagine needing was provided in the room. The bathroom was excellent as well, with all the necessary amenities. Just a small tip – if you prefer complete silence, opt for the interior rooms as the exterior ones tend to be a bit noisy due to street sounds.
During our stay, we had booked a standard room which, although very small, was acceptable. However, we encountered an issue with the air conditioning not being turned on in standard rooms. Despite voicing my complaint to the night attendant, they blamed me for turning up the heat and refused to take responsibility. It was not until the next morning when I spoke to another staff member who explained that the AC is shut off for the season in standard rooms, yet it still functions in upgraded rooms (which seemed strange to me). Eventually, we were moved to an upgraded room, but the experience left a bad taste due to the inconsistent AC policy and the attitude of the night person. Would I choose to stay here again? Probably not.
The location was ideal, just a short distance from the Gothic quarter and Barcelona's beach at Barceloneta. The metro station was conveniently close, providing easy access to popular destinations like La Sagrada Familia and Gracia. The hotel had a sleek and modern interior, with rooms featuring clean wooden floors. The double room we stayed in had a comfortable and spacious bed, while the bathroom had a convenient walk-in shower. Our third-floor room had a window, but unfortunately, it opened up to an interior space, which was not ideal. The staff were helpful and multilingual, and there was a small bar area for a relaxing end to the day. The bathroom had generously sized towels and plenty of plugs for charging devices. Additionally, there was a luggage stand and ample hanging space for clothes. The nearby train station, Estación de Francia, made it easy to access other parts of the city, including Barcelona Sants and the airport with just one change.
This hotel is situated in a great location, only a short 5 to 10 minute walk from Barcelona's gothic quarter and marina. The beach is also only 15 minutes away. The room was spotless and, although there was no view, this was not an issue as it was just a place to sleep. The reception staff were generally helpful, although check-in was a bit slow. Coffee and croissants are available from reception for around €3.50, which is great. We didn't use the breakfast area round the back. The pool and terrace area was a great asset, although it didn't open until 1pm which may be too late for some. The only slight issue we had was regarding the seating areas in the evenings which were often reserved yet empty. After mentioning this we did get moved though. All in all we would definitely stay here again.
