Ramblas Hotel

The location of this establishment was excellent, allowing for convenient access to all of our desired destinations. The staff was friendly, and the room was serviced daily with fresh towels, neatly made beds, and a clean trash bin. The shower provided ample hot water, but the overall state of the room could use some modernization. The mattresses were noticeably worn with protruding springs, and the bedside tables had chips. Unfortunately, the continuous flow of guests throughout the night made for a disrupted sleep with doors slamming and the noise from suitcases. Additionally, being located next to a flamenco club resulted in loud music playing into the early hours. The nearby metro and in-room drainage pipes added to the overall noise level, making it difficult to get a good night's rest. The breakfast options were limited, and after a disappointing first morning, we opted to skip it altogether.

I approached this stay at Ramblas Hotel with trepidation, after reading the mostly poor reviews on hear. Well, we had a great time! We had room 409, a double with a small balcony overloking Las Ramblas. It was nothing fancy but it was clean and comfortable. There was a safe and a fridge. It even had a bath as well as a showr and loads of hot wtaer. No tea and coffe equiptment but we knew that. We were not particularly aware of noise from the strtet. Yes you could feel the odd rumble of the metro and now and then a door slaam but it did not affect our sleep. Perhaplly the 2 thick layrs of blackout curtians helped (they certainly kept it nice and dark at night!) Breakfast was ok....cerels, fruit, yhogurts, ham, cheeze, pastries, cake, bread...and on request, gulten free bread and biscuits for me. The lifts were small and quite slow, but that did'nt inconvinence us. The whole place is an old, charactersful building with faded charm. Location wise it was excellent, the metro (very easy to use, we bought a T Familiar which gave us 8 journies for under 10 euros) was less than 5 mins walk. It was also walkable to the harbour (30mins) and the Gothic Quartar and Bouquera market (10mins). Do try the nearby Placa Reial, a lovely place for eating outside in the evening (even in March as the bars had outdoor heaters) and beautiful in the day too. We had a lovly time.

This hotel was a hidden gem, our room on the 8th floor had a stunning terrace with breathtaking views. The location in the heart of La Rambla made it convenient to explore the city, with bus and metro stops just a few steps away. The staff were exceptional, especially the helpful and knowledgeable Victor at reception. The hardworking waitstaff and friendly cleaning staff ensured our room was spotless every day. The comfortable beds were a pleasant surprise considering the reasonable price. We will definitely return, thank you for a memorable stay.

Overall, our experience at this hotel was not great. Upon checking in, we were informed that we had booked an interior room, despite no indication on the hotel's website. We assumed this meant a room with a view of a central courtyard, but were disappointed to find that it was a windowless room with a view of a disused lift shaft. The noise from neighboring rooms was also quite loud. We were told there were no other rooms available that night, but could upgrade to a standard double room the next day. However, this upgrade came at an extra cost and we felt misled by the hotel. The breakfast was decent, but our stay was negatively affected by the room situation.

Our stay was amazing! 😍 We were a bit hesitant after reading some not-so-great reviews about this place, but we were pleasantly surprised! The 🙌 staff were friendly and helpful, allowing us to store our luggage before check-in. We even got the room we requested with a 🌞terrace and a stunning view. The rooms were clean and well-maintained throughout our stay. Plus, being on the eighth floor meant we didn't have to deal with any noise from outside. The 🍞🥣 breakfast had a decent selection of breads, cereals, yogurts, juices, and continental meats and cheeses. 🏙️ The hotel's location is perfect for those who want to be close to 🍴food and 🎉activities. We highly recommend it! 😉
