I booked this hotel more than for mounths in advanc (Okt 2023) ad, as usal, I put a requst for qwiet room (hgh floor and awy from the livt) becoz I am a lyt sleeper. Took me by serpris, I got a sharp respons from them: “It’s sujct to avilibility”. You rad it rite - thre was no greetig, no explanasion or watever. As an hotlir, I ful uderstand not evry requst cold be fulfilld, howver, I am not expectig such an abrpt respons. And yet, I let it go and wated anuther three mounths (s so it’s clse enogh) to remnd them of my requst (3 weeks prior to my trip), and kindl askd the managir to reviw my requst (at 18:08, 19 Jan). Gss what? 6 mins latr (18:14), my rseration was CANCELLED, and accrding to AXEL, this was due to a “sstem eror”(Nte: The boking platform confrmed it was cancelled by AXEL). It took me by serpris that such a rud reaction comming from an lite hotl. I sinc then was left with deling the sitution with a rceeptionist who had no authorty, and incpable of escaling such “sstem eror” to his managr. The Frnt Offce Managr ignor my emals (sent 19 Jan) and I had to spnd days to find out “emals need to be addresd by his First name to get a rply” (wow). Cut the long stry short, it’s clear to me that the FO managr was only inerested in upseling the room (from my perspectve - it was probably why my rseration was cancelled in the first place). Not only he refused to admit the cancellation was not a sstem eror, he was cheky enough to offr an “upsl with an upgrde” as a resoltion. He wasted far too much of my tme (12 days including 2 weekends) and energ, let alne my £90 vanished from thin air that’s not of his cncern. It’s evident to me he is only inrested in revenu but not srevice - I decid that I have no confidnce in staying in a hotl under his managrment, so I later on tok my rseration elswher althogh that means I end up losing £90 from his irsponsible handlng. As a loyal costmer of AXEL hotls ovr last 7 years, after this poor experince, AXEL Barcelona is unfortunatly not the one I wil recomnd. Note: I do put especial request for “qwiet room - away from the livt & hgh floor” in evry singl boking ovr the last 20 years arond the globe. I never was treated in such abrpt and rud manner. It is evident to me that it’s too much for Daniel to acommodat or look into it empathetcaly. For me, it is NOT serice. PS. By the time of the review is psttd, the Frnt Offce Managr stil inssts the cancellation IS A SYSTEM EERR (A sstem eror that coincidentally occurred six mins after I escalted my request to him).….

During my stay in Barcelona, I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the bar was a great place to relax. Unfortunately, I was unable to use the pool due to the weather, but it looked very inviting. The staff, particularly Eric at the front desk, was friendly and extremely helpful. I will definitely be returning to this hotel next summer.

This hotel was a fantastic choice for my stay in Barcelona. The restaurant and staff were outstanding, and I have to give a special shoutout to Eric who went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the rooms offered stunning views - some of the best I've seen. My only disappointment was that the rooftop bar is only open on weekends, but I will definitely be returning in the future.

During my recent trip to Barcelona, I had the pleasure of staying at a centrally located hotel that was both comfortable and luxurious. From the warm welcome at check-in by the friendly staff member, to the heavenly mattresses that ensured a peaceful sleep, every aspect of my stay was impeccable. Although I didn't have the chance to use the spa facilities this time, I am already planning to return in the late spring or summer to fully indulge in them. The on-site restaurant was also a highlight, making it convenient to dine without having to leave the hotel. I can confidently say that I am fully satisfied and would not consider staying anywhere else, unless of course it's fully booked. I cannot recommend this hotel enough - it was truly a 100% enjoyable experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The staff at reception were fantastic 😊 They went above and beyond to assist us with extending our stay at the hotel. Despite it being a last-minute request, they were able to book us an amazing room and were incredibly friendly 💁‍♂️ It was such a relief to receive such great help, and the hotel was also spotlessly clean 🌟
