Upon arrival, the receptionist informed me that I had been given an upgraded room with a street view, balcony, coffee machine, and whirlpool bath. The room was cozy and comfortable, though the limited English TV channels lacking signal proved to be a minor inconvenience. At check-in, I had opted for the discounted breakfast rate for my 7-night stay. However, on my first morning, I was informed that I had only paid for one breakfast and would need to contact reception to pay for the remaining six. Despite the front desk staff, Gabriel, insisting that this was the case, upon reviewing my account, he eventually acknowledged that I had indeed paid for all seven breakfasts. While he did apologize for the confusion, it was not the most professional way to handle the situation and it disrupted my otherwise satisfactory experience at the breakfast buffet. Overall, it was disappointing.
The service at this hotel was excellent. Our bartender, Silvia, was always smiling and had a great sense of humor. She was definitely the best and deserves 5 stars. The housekeeping staff, especially David, were also amazing. David was very kind and helpful during our stay. Overall, the staff here truly made our experience unforgettable. Thank you, David!
Upon our late arrival, there was only one staff member available for check-in, causing a bit of a delay. However, we were pleasantly surprised by an unexpected room upgrade. Unfortunately, this resulted in our original booking being disregarded and we were informed that we would need to pay an additional fee for breakfast, even though it was included in our initial rate. We opted to decline the breakfast. Although the room itself was spacious and comfortable, it was quite dirty. Our towels were covered in makeup and clearly not changed since the previous guest, and the bedding had a strong stale sweat odor. Despite my attempts to communicate with the hotel and mention our birthday celebration, the only gesture made was leaving an expired bag of peanuts in the room. This was extremely disappointing. The location of the hotel, however, was fantastic and made it easy to walk to all the attractions. The staff were friendly enough, but the lack of customer service was a let down.
My recent stay at a boutique hotel in Barcelona was quite pleasant. It was conveniently located close to La Rambla, about a 10-minute walk away. I appreciated being a bit away from the bustling main strip. The hotel is also within walking distance of Cassandra Barllo and the subway, making it easy to explore other attractions. Though small, the hotel was charming and our room was a decent size. It even had a lovely terrace, though we didn't get a chance to use it. Overall, we had a satisfying experience during our stay.
Our family's recent stay at a hotel in Barcelona was nothing short of a letdown. We had made our reservation based on the hotel's website, which advertised a room with a balcony and an additional living space for the third bed. However, upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the room we were given had neither a balcony nor an extra area. When we brought this up with the reception staff, they simply stated that our confirmation email did not mention these amenities. However, we had booked a room specifically named "Double Bed Suite Pool View Sofa Bed" which clearly stated these features on the website. We were met with no compensation or acknowledgement of our dissatisfaction, and it seems the staff's supposed request to management for assistance yielded no results. This was extremely disappointing and left a sour taste in our mouths. Additionally, the breakfast offered was subpar for a 4-star hotel, with low quality ingredients. Overall, we suggest avoiding this hotel chain and exploring other options in the area.
