🏩 My stay at this hotel was not what I expected 😔 Let me explain in detail so that you know the reality of things before booking: ♿ The elevator was broken when we arrived and wasn't fixed for 5 days 😩 We had to carry our luggage up 4 floors and I wonder how an elder or someone with a disability could manage. 🚪 The corridors and room had an unpleasant smell due to humidity ☹️ "The key policy situation" was a bit concerning as they gave a room key without confirming the guest's identity 🤔 They also don't provide basic amenities like toothpaste or flip flops, instead you have to buy it from the lobby 🛍️ The 24-hour buffet has a limited selection and most of the food needs to be reheated in the microwave 🍴 However, there were some positives: 🚇 The location is great, close to the metro and bus stations 🌆 It's also right on the Ramblas 🛀 Our renovated toilet was nice and the bed was comfortable, even though we were given 2 separate beds despite mentioning it was our honeymoon. Overall, not the best experience.
The location of this establishment is perfect for exploring La Rambla, the Placa de Catalunya, and the charming Gothic Quarter. Upon arrival, the entrance may seem unconventional with a lift and stairs instead of a traditional reception area. However, the reception team is fantastic and efficiently checks you in before escorting you to your room. Our room on the first floor had a gorgeous view of La Rambla and a small balcony. Though not large, it was spotless and cozy. The bathroom was well-equipped with a shower over a bath. Additionally, the 24-hour buffet located next to reception provides a variety of refreshments including tea, coffee, alcoholic and soft drinks. It may not be extensive, but it is more than enough for a quick snack after a day of exploring the city. For transportation, there is a taxi stand right outside the hotel entrance. While this hotel may not suit everyone's taste, it's an excellent choice for those looking for a prime location, clean and comfortable rooms, and complimentary food and drinks. The staff was also exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
During our pre-cruise stay in Barcelona, we were accommodated in this hotel. As first-time visitors to the city, its location was perfect. Although the hotel itself had a slightly odd and old-fashioned feel to it, the staff were exceptional (with the exception of one young receptionist who appeared quite annoyed). Our room, while small, was cozy and peaceful. The bathroom was lovely. The complimentary buffet was a convenient option for a light snack. We also appreciated the unlimited coffee and tea. And the highlight of our stay was definitely the free wine and beer that we enjoyed while socializing with new acquaintances.
📍Perfect location on la Rambla with a balcony 🔝 overlooking the action. 🍹🍴Great perks like free drinks and 24-hour limited buffet 🕰️, and all the staff are amazing! Special shoutout to Vivian (I hope I spelled her name right), she's a superstar! ⭐
The room was kept impeccably clean and provided a comfortable stay. The bathroom amenities were satisfactory and the staff were friendly and accommodating. However, our main concern was the lack of safety. The hotel entrance opened directly onto Las Ramblas, where there was a noticeable presence of homeless individuals, drug users, beggars, and thieves. Given the questionable condition of the lift, we opted to take the stairs, which unfortunately exposed us to this uncomfortable reality. We constantly witnessed criminal activity from our room, leaving us feeling vulnerable and on guard. The 24-hour buffet was subpar and not suitable for British guests seeking a hot breakfast. Despite the advertised option, the food was far from it and lacked any form of warmth. We were provided with a microwave, but it hardly solved the issue of trying to microwave a cold boiled egg. The pictures displayed on social media are misleading and do not accurately represent the actual state of the hotel. While everyone has different preferences, it is worth noting that the hotel's decor was not to our taste. We had booked our stay for my husband's 60th birthday, but unfortunately, the unsafe atmosphere of Las Ramblas dampened our celebration plans. Constantly having to be on guard while enjoying a few drinks is not an ideal holiday experience.
