During our recent trip to Barcelona, we stayed at a hotel that exceeded all expectations. The location was perfect and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the friendly greetings at breakfast each morning, the service was exceptional. Despite our room facing the bustling Plaza, we were pleasantly surprised by how soundproof it was, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep. Overall, we could not fault our experience and highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely be returning here on our next visit to Barcelona.
Our stay was met with exceptional service and high quality amenities. We found it convenient to have easy access to the nearby metro, bus station, shops, and local restaurants, as well as the impressive Sagrada Familia. The hotel's central location in the heart of Barcelona's old town, just steps away from Plaza Catalunya, made it the ideal choice. The friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk made our stay even more enjoyable. Additionally, the breakfast offered was top-notch and added great value to our stay.
Our trip to the Olivia Plaza Hotel in Barcelona was an absolute delight. From the minute we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and kindness from Emil and the rest of the reception staff. They truly went above and beyond in every aspect, paying great attention to detail and making us feel right at home. Our room was perfect, complete with a terrace balcony where we enjoyed our breakfast each morning while taking in the breathtaking views of the city. The hotel's location is unbeatable, right beside Las Ramblas and the Gothic quarter. Not only was the hotel clean and well-maintained, but it also had all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. We cannot wait to come back and visit again.
During my recent trip to Barcelona, I had a mixed experience at the hotel I stayed at. I had booked a two-night stay, but unfortunately, I received news that my mother had passed away. I knew I needed another night at the hotel and when I asked if it was possible, I was informed that there were no available rooms at my rate. The only option was to book an additional three nights, which felt like a strong-arm hustle. I was also disappointed that no one offered condolences. The front desk agent increased the rate and I felt like I was being taken advantage of in a vulnerable situation. It was frustrating to be forced to pay for three extra days when my flight was only 12 hours away. I had booked my room using AMEX travel, which apparently has a relationship with Experia for hotels.
The hotel itself was lovely, with a modern and clean atmosphere in the heart of the city. The staff were a mixed bag - some spoke English and were friendly, while others were rude and unprofessional. It seemed like their attitude towards me changed when they realized I was an American, which I found disappointing. The location was convenient, with a train station right in front of the hotel and taxis available 24/7. However, the area felt a bit sketchy, which I found to be a common theme in Barcelona.
The hotel had some nice amenities, including an internet lounge, a variety of dining options, and shopping nearby. I appreciated that they had an English menu and clean room service staff. However, there were limited vegetarian options and only 10 items available for in-room dining. In terms of safety, I recommend using the safe in your room to store valuables, but I did find the doorman's behavior of asking for my reservation before even saying hello to be quite rude. I also had to deal with pickpocketing and unwelcome attention from men on the street.
Overall, my stay at this hotel was not the best experience, and I don't think I would choose to stay here again. I suggest investing in a cross-body bag and a neck wallet for added security while exploring the city. And lastly, don't leave your passport and valuables in your room - use the hotel safe instead.
I had an absolutely amazing experience at the Olivia Plaza Hotel in Barcelona. The location was truly fantastic and made exploring the city so much easier. The hotel itself was simply stunning, with a spacious and comfortable room and an incredibly comfortable bed. The level of cleanliness was impeccable and I felt truly at home during my stay. The staff were not only incredibly friendly, but were also extremely helpful in assisting us with booking restaurants and tours. The convenience of being close to everything was a major plus. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be booking again for my next summer trip. Sincerely, Zena.
