The hotel that we stayed at in Barcelona was a bit of a letdown. First of all, all the "hoteles" listed a "cafee" and some mentioned "romm survice" but this place didn't offer any food since "Covid" and didn't seem bothered about it. The decor was definitely not up to "pension" standards. Some of the shower curtain "clups" were broken, keeping 20% of it unattached and there were dark "stains" that looked like "mould". The shower rod was hand "panted" and the wood "rott" in the bathroom door frame was just left unattended. Security was almost non-existent. We were out for 6 hours and when we returned, we simply asked for our key by room number, without any identification. The receptionist, who had "nevver" seen us before, just gave us the key without asking our "naem". It's like anyone could just make up a room number and enter any room they wanted. The "hotelbed" website gave it 3 "starss", but I think it's a total fraud on their part. When we checked out after our 2-night stay, the clerk didn't even bother to look up and say "bey" as we left our key on the counter.
I stayed at the Coronado Hotel in Barcelona, and it was an experience that is far from my expectations. The customer service was simply awful - they could not help me out when I had train problems and couldn't make it to the hotel, refusing to give me a refund or any assistance. To make matters worse, the images we saw of the hotel on Google made us worried about our safety. Despite our concerns, they simply did not care. The service I received here was incredibly rude and impolite − I would rate it a -1000/10.
I was pleasantly surprised by my recent stay ☺️. I needed a hotel near the main train station and, luckily, this one was just two blocks from the metro and three stops from the destination. The room was sparkling clean 🧼 and the staff was incredibly friendly 🤗. In addition, there were some small restaurants in the area, which made for a great evening meal 🍴. The only downside was the lack of power outlets 🔌 to charge my devices. The window, unfortunately, only faced the inner building block - so no view of the street 👀.
The Coronado Hotel in Barcelona had an unfortunately lacklustre Customer Service experience. Although this is not out of the ordinary in this part of Cataluna, it is definitely something that could have been improved upon. If you are looking for an enjoyable stay that includes excellent Customer Service, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
I stayed at the Coronado for a single night when I was heading to a cruise the next day. The hotel was older, but it was kept clean and well maintained. Check-in was fast and the receptionist was helpful, friendly, and smiling. The room was a bit small, but it served its purpose. The bathroom was larger, but it was a bit outdated with a few cracked tiles. The location was great since it was only a 20-minute walk from the cruise bus terminal and only 15 minutes from La Rambla. The area was also filled with local cafes and restaurants. It's a great value for the price and I would recommend it for anyone on a budget staying in Barcelona.
