My recent stay at a hotel in Barcelona was pleasant. However, it was located a 30-minute drive away from the city centre or a 1-hour and 10-minute walk. There wasn't much to do or see in the immediate area around the hotel. The food offered at the hotel was in buffet style and had a good variety, but unfortunately, it was served cold every time we went for a meal. The hotel staff also seemed to be not very friendly towards British travelers. On a positive note, the rooms were clean and well-maintained.
This accommodation was located a bit further from the main hub of Barcelona, but I believe it provides a great value for the price. Additionally, the metro station is conveniently situated just a two-minute walk away, making it easy to reach the city center in only 4-5 stops. The hotel itself was of a high standard, especially considering the cost. The rooms were spacious, with a modern and simplistic design. Everything was also maintained in a very clean condition, including the bedding and towels. The rooftop pool and spa added an extra level of luxury to our stay. While we only dined at the breakfast buffet, we were pleased with the extensive options and quality of the food. The staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful during our stay. The only issue I encountered was with the warmth of my room during my December visit, as the air conditioning didn't seem to be adequate. Despite this, it would not deter me from choosing to stay at this hotel again in the future.
The hotel was quite nice and conveniently located near Barcelona's city center via the metro. There was also a shopping center nearby. Our room was satisfactory, however, we had requested a special surprise for my mother's 50th birthday upon arrival which unfortunately was not arranged. We had to ask multiple times before anything was even done, and when it finally was, it was just a bowl of chopped fruit.
Unfortunately, my recent stay at a hotel in Barcelona was the worst experience I have had during my travels. The staff were incredibly rude, impolite, and showed clear signs of racism. The manager, in particular, was the epitome of rudeness and racism. I was even threatened with police intervention as I spoke to Expedia on the phone, attempting to resolve an issue with my room being searched twice by housekeeping. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the manager's behavior and was met with an uncaring response. This same lack of care and courtesy extended to other staff members, particularly one named Laura. I encountered multiple issues during my stay, including a room door that did not properly lock, and being moved to a smoking room. Despite bringing these concerns to their attention, nothing was done. I urge future travelers to avoid this establishment at all costs. Not only did I feel unsafe, but I was also treated as less than a guest. To be treated as if I were a criminal was truly disheartening and made this the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Please, take my advice and do not stay here.
As someone in the tourism industry, I was quite disappointed with my recent stay. The accommodations were not up to par in terms of cleanliness. I even found my pajamas tossed on the floor, only to be returned to me without being washed. Unfortunately, I also had to endure a cold shower this morning due to a lack of hot water, while it was raining outside.
